Kidnappers Demand N500m Ransom To Free Jonathan's Uncle

 

 According to Sahara Reporters:

Abductors of Inengite Nitabai, the 70-year old uncle of President Goodluck Jonathan, have demanded a N500m ransom.

A security source said that the abductors threatened to kill him if the family fails to produce the money. And that the kidnappers had also warned against the involvement of security operatives in the matter.

Tension and panic set in when the kidnappers failed to establish any contact with the family of their victim three days after he was abducted. That development was said to have rattled the Presidency, which reportedly ordered a massive deployment of security in Otuoke, the hometown of the Jonathans, and the Niger Delta creeks. Eventually, the kidnappers contacted the family four days after and demanded a whopping sum of N500m.

It is believed that the family of the victim has begun negotiations with the hoodlums, the source said.

Mr. Price Clothing Store Staff Humiliate 3 Girls they Caught Shoplifting

Last Monday in Ghana, 3 young girls, believed to be students of the University of Ghana, were humiliated after staff of Mr Price Clothing Store, Accra Shopping Mall caught them allegedly shoplifting panties.

The three victims, names withheld, were made to crawl on their knees for about 200 metres from the shop to the entrance of the mall, while an excited crowd laughed, jeered, called them names and recorded the entire incident using their phones. According to reports, that was after the security men on duty reportedly asked
the women whether they preferred to crawl or be handed over to the police, to which they chose the former.

The video went viral on social media networks and blogs shortly after the incident.

Man dies during sex with prostitute in Aba

A man, identified as Ogadinma Chukwu, has lost his life while having sex with a commercial sex worker at a popular brothel located on St. Michael’s Road, Aba, Abia State.
Sources said the deceased, whom they alleged to be a regular visitor to the brothel, died while romping the prostitute.It was gathered that immediately Chukwu slumped and died, the prostitute contacted her colleagues and the manager of the brothel who moved his corpse to a sanitary lane at the back of the brothel.
As a result of the development, shop owners around the area quickly closed business for fear of police arrest.

Boko Haram strikes in Adamawa, kills 9, burn down churches, bank

Barely 24 hours after the attack on the Federal Government college in Yobe state where 43 young students were killed, suspected men of the Islamist group yesterday night attacked settlers at Kirchinga, Michika, Shuwari and Shuwa district all in Adamawa state. Several cars, houses, catholic churches, shops and even a First Bank Complex were burnt down.

The men also burnt down 3 catholic churches in Shuwari as well as a seminary school, Saint Joseph Minor Seminary in Shuwa.

The armed men came in nine Toyota Hilux vans, firing guns and throwing explosives. 9 people have so far been confirmed dead, including a staff of Bank of Agriculture. Spokesman of 23rd Armour Brigade, Yola, has confirmed the incident. Nine Toyota Hilux vans? Wow!

Nigerian court refuses Sanusi’s prayer over suspension

                                           
Ousted Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, on Wednesday suffered a temporary set back as a Federal High Court siting in Abuja and presided by Justice Gabriel Kolawole, refused to grant his ex parte application for his return to office pending he determination of the suit he filed challenging President Jonathan’s powers to suspend him from office.
The judge declined the invitation to make the orders being sought by Sanusi on the ground that it would be unfair to grant such an application without affording the President, the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police the opportunity to be heard.

Sanusi had filed the application last Monday where in he urged the court to make an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants from obstructing, disturbing,
stopping or preventing him in any manner whatsoever, from performing the functions as the governor of the CBN and enjoying in full, the statutory powers and privileges attached to the office.

Senate orders army to the North after Yobe school massacre

With 59 school children dead in Yobe State, the Senate Defence Committee has ordered the Nigerian Army to the North East today to provide protection. (A survivor pictured above)

The Senate Defence Committee, chaired by Senator George Thompson Sekibo suspended budget hearings to pass a resolution which ordered the Nigerian Army to the North East.

Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Kenneth Minimah was ordered to provide security for all schools and health institutions in the Boko Haram affected areas to include Maiduguri and Yobe.

General Minimah thanked the Committee for its concern and said, "...it will be the last of such from the insurgents." Continue...

Nigerian student sentenced to death in Malaysia for drug trafficking

A 28 year old Nigerian student, Prince Bartholowmew Obitube, has been sentenced to death by a high court in Malaysia for trafficking drugs. The Shah Alam High Court yesterday Feb 26th gave the death penalty to Obitube after he was found guilty of trafficking cannabis, also known as marijuana.

The accused, a student with a private college in Kuala Lumpur, was arrested with 9,189kg of cannabis at Desa Satu Apartment, Gombak on Aug 20, 2011. According to the facts of the case, Obitube was caught by police from the Gombak Narcotic Crime Investigation Department, following a tip off, within the apartment area after he tried to run away with a backpack containing the drugs.

The offense, under the Dangerous Drugs Act in the country, provides a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

Devotees of Chukwuemeka Ezeugo a.k.a. Rev. King, founder of the Christian Praying Assembly, have marked his birthday in his absentia, describing him as their God.
PMNews reports that the members bought several pages of newspapers to congratulate King who is on deathrow. A women’s group in his church, St. Faith Woman (Daughters of the Kingdom of God), in their advert in a national daily described King as the light of the world.
“Daddy, you are the light of the world, a nation without you is in total darkness,” the group said.

Nigerian stowaway dies under South African Airways plane at U.S .airport

                                              

A suspected stowaway was found frozen to death in the undercarriage of a South African Airline passenger jet at Dulles Airport in Washington, after the plane landed from Senegal.

The man, identified only as Chris Dikeh, with a Nigerian Passport and in his mid-30s, is believed to have frozen in temperatures around -60°C.

The deceased boarded the aircraft from Dakar, Senegal, his body was discovered Saturday in the wheel well of the plane parked at Dulles International Airport in Washington.

Per Second News gathered from the Police that it was a South African Airways jet that was parked now in a remote part of the airport. Grounds crews found the body on Saturday afternoon.”

Airport authorities say the male body was recovered from the landing gear of the Airbus A340 belonging to South African Airways. The flight arrived in Dulles on Wednesday last week.

In a release sent to Per Second News by officials of the South African Airways and signed by SAA spokesperson Mr Tlali Tlali,” (SAA) has initiated an internal investigation into the discovery of a human body on its aircraft in Washington DC, in the United States of America”.

'Samuel Eto'o is 39, not 32' his baby mama Anna Barranca claims

A week after Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was secretly filmed saying he thinks Samuel Eto'o is older than his age, his ex Anna Barranca has spoken out saying Eto'o is way older than 32.

"The problem with Chelsea is I lack a scorer. I have Eto’o but he is 32 years old, maybe 35, who knows?’ Mourinho said in a private conversation but it was secretly recorded and published on a sports website. It has since been taken down.

Now Eto'o's former lover, Anna Barranca, who is 43years old and has an 11year old daughter, Annie,  with the footballer said he's not 35, but 39 going on 40. 

The Italian hairdresser (pictured above with her daughter) told The Sun UK today "I think Samuel is not 35 he is more 39. Samuel was born in 1974 and so that makes him 39 now.' She claims she was informed of Eto'o's true age when they were dating by a friend who grew up with Eto'o in Cameroon.

For 33 years and two months, Jason Chukwuma Njoku, Nigerian internet tycoon and founder of highly successful online television platform, IROKO TV, has lived without knowing his biological father. But last week, the young tech entrepreneur went on the Twitter to announce an attempt by his absentee dad to reunite with him after more than three decades of abandonment.

“After 33-years. Having never met the man. My dad is now calling trying to have a conversation. #nothavingit,” Njoku tweeted via his Twitterhandle @JasonNjoku.
Although Njoku has kept the name of his estranged dad to himself, he is not too keen to accept the man.

Boy, 15, Gets Exchanged For 2 Bags Of Rice in Alimosho, Lagos

            

A yet to be identified man on Monday successfully traded a 15-year old boy, Seun Aderinwale, for two bags of rice valued at N20,000 at Igando in Alimosho area of Lagos State. According to eyewitness account, the man, whose address is unknown, went to 4, Ifesowapo Street, Igando, on Monday morning to buy two bags of rice from a shop owned by a woman identified as Iya Ibrahim.

The rice seller was not available at the time but her son, Ibrahim, agreed to the man’s proposal to drop Seun, an Aluminium apprentice, as collateral, in order to collect the two bags  of rice and return later to pay. However, when the shop owner returned in the afternoon, she was surprised to see Seun who was dropped there in exchange for the two bags of rice taken away by the unidentified man.
When the man failed to return, the 15-year old was held hostage until evening when the pastor of his church, a Celestial Church of Christ around the area, saw him at the shop looking despondent.

Boko Haram Means“War Against Western education” - Reasons Why Only Boys Were Killed Yobe...

Mass killing of school children at the Federal Government College in the Buni Yadi area of Yobe was shrouded in mystery after reports revealed that only male students were killed. It has been learnt, however that the extremists intentionally spared the female students.
According to the officials, female students at the co-ed school were spared – and that the attackers instead told them to go home and get married and to abandon their Western education (Boko Haram – meaning “against Western education”).
It would be recalled that the attackers set a locked dormitory on fire in the early hours of Tuesday. The terrified students escaped through the windows, they were shot and their throats were slit. Some were burned to ashes.The massacre was followed by violent reactions by Nigerians and top politicians, urging the authorities to put an end to bloodshed in the country.

SA man launches contest for virgins, to reward them with R100,000

29 year old Rabelani Ramali (pictured right), a community worker from rural Limpopo province in South African has launched a contest in the country where girls who are virgins at 35 and below would be rewarded with R100,000 or less plus medals; gold, silver or bronze, depending on their ages

Rabelani who has fathered five children by four women out of wedlock, says he decided to come up with this idea to help checkmate the rate of unwanted pregnancies and HIV cases amongst south African women. He said his NGO, SA Virgin Girls Awards, which was registered in November 2013, is set to take on this task as he has recruited 31 volunteer workers who would help disburse forms among women in schools, market, churches and other places.

Rabelani said he has contacted local medical doctors who have agreed to help him carry out the virginity test on the girls who would come forward to get tested.

R100,000 would be given to virgins between the ages of 31 and 35, R50,000 for those aged 26 to 30 and R25000 for those aged 21 to 25. He expects donors to make the prize money available to the winning contestants.

Suspended CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido Sues President Jonathan

                                

Suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has finally sued President Goodluck Jonathan before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, challenging his suspension from office.
In a suit filed late Monday by some of his lawyers, including Kola Awodein (SAN), Sanusi is urging the court to, among others, restrain the President and two others from giving effect to his purported suspension, pending the determination of his suit.
Also to be restrained are the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), sued with the President.
